That is: with books and or reading material, even a video library....

I'm sure there's a more, but I haven't capped them yet.

What a great idea! Why didn't we think of it sooner, since we all are librarians.

Here is one I found in my 'library':

And another one (one of my favorites):

Hello, hello! Have you found my library card? I am lost without it, so can I have another one?

Now I must watch all his films (the ones I have) again to look for those library moment Wink

Oh, those are great!
Keep them coming....and if you feel like it, add a caption!

I was wondering about the Hornblower films....didn't see many books brought out or shelves of books, but hey! Maps count, too!

Oh you Angel, Maddy! These are fantastic! When I saw the close-ups
from the end of the TVM, I nearly screamed! I've been hoping someone,
with the technical skill, would "zoom in"! Excellent! Thank you! This is a
wonderful theme. I can't wait to see more.

I just had a thought. If it's piccies of Paul reading that you're after, how
about the scene on the plane in "Nice Town" where he's reading? That is
such a cute scene with Joe and his older daughter.

Ooh, yeah, we mustn't forget the end of "The Importance of Being Earnest"! Now that was some very important reading!

Funny how I hadn't noticed that Grace had books in her house. Can't imagine why...!

Thanks Estelle! That is the Nice Town scene I was thinking of. I can't
believe I didn't think of The Biographer! Or Grace's house in the TVM!
But of course, she is a doctor. So she would have books.

I just thought of FairyTale: A True Story. The scene where they're reading the newspaper article-"They get the damn thing in the North
Pole."

This really is a fun thread! Excellent idea, Maddy!

Oh, excellent finds.....

Thanks for Ancient Mariner writing pics, and Gigli background book shots!!!

Like a treasure hunt--eh?

I lost my "Importance of Being Earnest" tape and have no idea where it is.

I was hoping someone would get those "Biographer" Big library books and "Nice Town" reading shots.

I think in Sweet Revenge, there's some scenes were he's either quoting or looking at a lot of books, somewhere in the beginning I think, in his office. Also, in Hanging Gale, there's some books and or writing materials that he goes over. Fishmust have law books a-plenty....but I don't have access to that one. Not sure about Katherine the Great?
And in Hornblower, either Mutiny or Retribution, I think there is a piccie with a map. Will have to check.

I think a Library Themed banner culled out of such pics would be in order.

I still have the library's copy of the DVD and tried to find a good cap the other night, but failed miserably. The angles aren't very good for capping with-book shots, alas. Sad

Reading is reading, and among Librarians, all reading is good....Akka.

Books and books on shelves are very iconic and/or symbolic to libraries, but all reading material is library related.

Letters, books, magazines, phone books, signs, newspapers, maps, comic books...

It all works.

Can I do my duty, too?
Is that good for a library?
