That's a point - what are the alcohol regs in Chicago? I know you have some states that you can't imbibe in, doesn't happen over here!!!

Will I be okay bringing a bottle or two with me or do I just reckon on there being a good bar?!

I've been planning to list CT2009 under the the convention category, Michelle, but have been dilatory. I'll get it set up later this evening.

Thanks Estelle Very Happy

I'll now be good and go do the review over at the website - I have some lovely new pics arrived today of 'Helen' that you won't have seen.....

The hotel has a nice bar. You can usually bring alcohol with you, but there may be a limit, so check before you leave. You might want to get a metal or plastic flask and put it in your suitcase...no glass, baggage handlers can be brutal.

Chicago is definitely not dry, but technically we're in Lombard. I doubt that it's dry (meaning no alcohol).

I can't believe that I of all people do not yet own a flask. Well, this will have to be fixed!

... but if the hotel bar is good, that solves that right there and I've got nothing to worry about.

... still want a flask.

Cat9,

I will do my best to be at Timequest if only in an unofficial capacity - we can have a drink or 3 for all the librarians Very Happy

Mikoto, I don't own a flask either, the hotel bar will do me fine!

O.k. gals...
As if I'm not disappointed enough in missing out on the chance to meet Paul at ChiTardis, all this talk of Librarians with recreational beverages and hip flasks has pushed me over the edge! Aargh! Sad Mad

Aw, I want to meet all my lovely Librarian pals! I can make some mean cocktails, AND...I have a flask, two in fact! Laughing

Estelle. will you be doing t-shirts like at CT '04? As it looks like I'm STILL not able to go, and if you are doing shirts, would I be able to buy one from you?

Btw, I'd need an extra small in men's and a small if you'd be doing them in woman's sizes. I still have the one you sent me from CT'04 - and, you were right, the extra large fits me as a VERY roomy nightshirt - which is what I use it for! Smile

A woman I work with always packs a large plastic flask full of Jack Daniels when we have to go to our annual conference...just in case. So far, it has never been confiscated out of her checked luggage. I, on the other hand, rely on finding a good bar or free booze from various parties.

I don't drink often, so I tend to get drunk after two drinks. I won't make a lot of sense (except to me) and will do almost anything I'm dared to do...hence, why I don't drink often. I'll make an exception for Chicago--I may need the liquid courage.

Whereas I have the stomach of a concrete elephant. Shocked And believe me, when you see me you won't believe it because I don't exactly look like a heavyweight.

Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on you and make sure you don't embarrass yourself ... too much. Wink

Yes, I think shirts would be fun. Maybe Intervain can do another lovely design like she did for the last con.
