It's such a strange thing. I've seen quite a few Paul McGann movies over the years. But other than saying to myself, "Hmm.. He's kinda handsome", but I really didn't notice him very much. I blame youth and distraction from Richard Armitage.
Then I watched "Withnail and I". Shocked Wow. It is such good movie, and perfectly expresses the frustrations that comes from being young and being a poor student (or a post-student). That's a situation I am very familiar with. Paul is so amazing in it. So dishy. I had to have it. And here I am. I've lurked around and now I am happy to join you all!

Hey Moetushie - welcome to the Library! Oh yeah, Paul's dishy alright - as Marwood and as a number of other folks. It is funny how it just hits you one day - "Guh! He's gorgeous!" when you've been seeing him for years. In my case, I really think I lived under a rock as I don't believe I had seen him in anything prior to Hornblower.

"Dishy" Akka just means beautiful (think delectable, yum yum, slurp!) - and no, that's not a dumb blonde question! That's an "English is not my first language" question! Wink

I so agree. I think the first Paul movie I ever watched was Our Mutual Friend. I found Eugene to be very fascinating character (Would he really seduce Lizzie or not? What would come of his midnight romps through London with Headstone?)
But it is was the mustache that sort of put me off. After seeing it again, however I find that I kind of like the mustache. It's curled on the ends, has anyone noticed that? I imagine Eugene twirling it as he is "winding up Mr. Dolls" or something like that. He he.

This has been a topic of some discussion here! I personally detest moustaches and I don't care whose face they are attached to! Paul's - welllll, o.k., I wouldn't throw him out of the bed but he'd have to do some extra work! It has grown on me to the point that I don't automatically go "ewww!" when I see him with facial hair and I totally agree with you that Eugene is quite a lovely man. There's enough Paulness there to make up for the fact his lovely mouth (mwah!) is obscured! Laughing

The mustache: Paul behind there! Very Happy
I prefer no facial hair myself. Mustaches and beards put me off my squeeing. My male friends know that I'll tease them pretty much mercilessly if they start growing a mustache. But sometimes it is appropriate for the characters and people too.

I'm about 90% against facial hair. Sometimes something can sway me, but it's very rare. Eugene's didn't really do it for me, though. Crying or Very sad
