No problem. I'm happy to talk about them. Music is a huge part of my life and gigs are what I prefer to see as opposed to going "clubbing".

Here's that pic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/13072006069.jpg

Smile.

Can't wait for tomorrow. Robbie, yay!

I think I'm missing one from the sixties, but this is my list
as far as I can remember.

The Monkees-1967
Merrilee Rush -1968 ( she did the song "Angel of the Morning")
T-Rex-1973 ( got the drummer Will Legend's Haymaker standard
drumstick )
Three Dog Night-1973 (twice)
The Grassroots-1973 (talked to the band-got autographs)
The Eagles-1974
Eric Clapton-1974 & 1975 (with Yvonne Elliman)
The Rolling Stones-1975 (with Chaka Khan)
Black Sabbath-1975 (with Brownsville Station)
The Who-1975 (twice), 1976, 1980, and 1982 (in the hotel lobby
with John Entwhistle-told him "Good Night" at the 1980 show.)

John got around, didn't he? I saw The Who at the Coliseum the fall of '82, then saw John Entwistle At the Holiday Inn in Ventura about 10 years later... *g*

Hey, Hey, how were the Monkee's like in concert?

What was it like?

I heard that some of them were pretty good after they rebelled against the Network. There's a lot of musicians that said they were pretty good, considering they didn't start out like people do, getting together as a band. Mike Nesmith was a good songwriter, performer.

Some friends of mine saw the Beatles at Shea Stadium, NYC and they couldn' t hear a thing for the screaming. Crying or Very sad

The Monkees? They were quite good. I was only fourteen and
it was my first concert. I still remember my outfit! I got laryngitis
from screaming! I was so naive that I asked a security guard if my
friend and I could go backstage and meet the band! LOL! My favourite
bit was when Davy Jones started doing a semi-striptease! He only
went as far as taking off his jacket and unbuttoning his shirt, but, boy,
did THAT send the female fans into paroxysms of glee! The screams
were deafening! As I said, I got laryngitis! Very Happy

Yes, I did! Very Happy I remember as soon as the band came onstage,
everyone, including me, got up and stood on their seats, dancing
about. The laryngitis came from the screaming, but also singing
along with every song! At 14, I was one of the biggest Monkee Maniacs
around. My walls were in "Modern Monkee"! I had a sign on my door
saying, "Enter at your own risk. You will be under constant observation!"
I used to get so embarrassed with all those guys "staring" at me, that
I used to get dressed etc. in the bathroom. I was constantly and
mercilessly teased about it. They were second only to the Beatles in
my affections. Getting to see them in concert was a dream come true
for me! And yes, I had all the records, including Davy Jones' solo album,
and dolls and all sorts of stuff...clothes hangers...the lot!

And now, November just took another big step towards definite yesterday! Very Happy I can't wait. Very Happy

You have all very impressive lists of concerts! I like to go to small events, to avoid crowds like Teri and Rollande.
Let's see, what have I seen:

Yethro Tull
Bette Middler
Moody Blues
Santana
Herman Brood (Dutch singer)
Nina Hagen (German singer)
The Bintangs
Curtis Mayfield
Eek-a-mouse
Massada
Gruppo Sportivo
Golden Earring
Ina Deter Band

I like small concerts. I remember the concert of the Moody Blues. My sister and I had been wanting to see them for years. It was disappointing, because we only saw very tiny men on stage far far away. You needed binoculars to see them properly Smile The music was good though.

Akka, I know the Spider Murphy Gang! I had forgotten al about them, but remembered when I read your post.
And I have Supertramp now in my CD-player, thanks to you. Your post brought back old memories and like you I feel young again Wink

I just thought I would add to this thread with a good post-concert feeling.

I.E. I am feeling SO SORE today!! I am walking like John Wayne. I stood from 1pm till 1130pm and I'm terribly sunburnt. My dodgy shoulder that I dislocated about 4-5 months ago has done nothing but ache like hell (It was spasming in the car!)

I was really close to Robbie though. My God he is gorgeous! It was live on TV across 23 countries or something though, so I don't know if any of you saw it last night!!!

I got loads of pics and videos. I need to flip some of them since I took them in landscape, but once I do that I can post them here. If you'll let me post the small videos of course!!

I'm sorry that you are feeling sore, but it sounds like despite the injury, you had a good time.

Oh definitely. The post concert ache is always to be expected, that's the way you know you had a good time!!

My shoulder has given me grief all my life though. It's been dislocated three times in my life already and since I done it the last time it's been a pain to try and regain some muscular strength in it... and too much exertion just makes it ache.. but oh well, it could be worse Razz.

I'll get to flipping the pictures/videos tomorrow and I'll post the best ones here Very Happy.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/yayayay.jpg - omg! He's about to come on stage Very Happy.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/robbie1.jpg - There he is!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/robbie2.jpg - My favourite picture. It looks like he's about to start stripping or something.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/robbie3.jpg - Yay!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/robbie4.jpg - The front of the stage.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/robbie5.jpg - Me and my shadow.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/robbie6.jpg - There he is again!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/robbie7.jpg - Spot the Robbie!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/robbie8.jpg - More Robbie goodness.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/robbie9.jpg - And more.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/robbie10.jpg - And even more!!

Now for the movies:

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/?action=view&current=09092006059_2.flv - Just before he came on stage I decided to take a look around at the crowd, this is the result of how busy it was.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/?action=view&current=09092006060_2.flv - Yes! That's me shrieking in the vid. Because I'm so small, this was the first time I'd seen him with the naked eye. My phone makes him look pretty small, but with my eyes he was veeeeeeery big, gorgeous and close.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/?action=view&current=09092006061_2.flv - More Robbie video.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/?action=view&current=09092006062_2.flv -Another decent one.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/?action=view&current=09092006063_2.flv -Me and my shadow. I adore this video because no one was waving their hands about so I got a really good video! Very Happy
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/?action=view&current=09092006064_2.flv -Stayin' alive. Complete with hands.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/?action=view&current=09092006065_2.flv -Strong. Also complete with hands.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/?action=view&current=09092006067_2.flv -Can you see him? That was me asking my mate if he could see Robbie Razz.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/?action=view&current=09092006069.flv -Another half decent video.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v292/nimagraven/?action=view&current=09092006070.flv -OMG at our fangirly scream in this one Smile. My friend said he'd appear from the top sometime during the gig. I was just rather sceptical, looks like we were pleasantly surprised!

Well, that's it. Hope you like 'em.
