I was first McGanned when "Withnail" first came out
because I was in love with George Harrison who was
a producer, so I watched because of his involvement.
Later on someone told me Paul was playing John Lennon
in the John & Yoko story. So I watched and realized that was not
Paul but an incredible simulation!!! These were pre-internet days and I
really did not have a clue being from the US with limited information.
I told myself that actor was Paul's twin. I really believed they were
twins. It was years later after getting internet in 1999 that I
found out there were 4 of those brothers. HOLY COW, all so handsome!
I was re-McGanned when ( buy chance)I got Ceremony of Innocence, just
wowed with that voice and a re-newed admiration for all things McGann.
Hey I like the name MoonDancer,
brings to mind the rocking cresent moon at the sign on page
in Ceremony.

Hi Belladog,

Thanks for the compliment on my name. Very Happy

What's Ceremony of Innocence? I haven't heard of that although it sounds very interesting, but then again there are prolly quite a few things that Paul and his brothers did that I've not heard about before or am just hearing about now. Surprised

Hi Moon Dancer, your welcome!

Ceremony of Innocence is part of the "Griffin & Sabine"
trilogy. It is correspondence between two artists one played by
Paul & the female played by Isabella Rossellini, who's voices
SO MUCh suit the characters. It is one of those open to interpretation
stories, Paul's character is sorta neurotic for lack of better
description, I relate him to the frantic part of Marwood in Withnail.
Anyway the reader/player is not sure if the character's are real
or is one or the other a figmant (sp) of the others imagination.
Anyway it is a cd game sorta thing where you install it in your computer
Sign on in your name and start the game, you have to figure out
how to open the letters, or solve a puzzle, when successful the postacard turns over or the letter opens and we hear the letter/correspondence
of the two, the two actors trade, we hear and in some cases read their mail. It is lavish with the graphics and sounds,
sorta scary sometimes, VERY different, VERY unique. It really draws you in. I have NEVER seen anything like it.
There are about 59 pieces of correspondence between the two, so
it is something you do awhile and then come back to later on, when you come back to it you sign in and pick up where you left off, you can go back and review as you like, IT IS GREAT, But frustrating cause I am a poor game player, I got well into the game and got stuck, even with cheat notes provided by someone on the internet, I was still stuck, I am blaming my computer..., THEN I decided to really cheat and took the cd to work and extracted the sound files off with the ACDSEE (???) thing and
then e-mailed all the sound files to my home computer. YES I am a big
old cheater, but I had to finish the story, which is open to interpretation.
I wish the writer would finish the triolgy with Paul & Isabella in audiobook
form that would be so grand.
I call it a game but it is not really, it's interactive thing when you do your part right you get to move on to the next letter which is read to you
by the actors, while they are reading there is something visually strange, scary, funny, beautiful, childlike, etc... happening on the screen.

Like I said I extracted the sound files which are in in Quicktime and Realplayer, I should share & send out a sample huh? Sorry I went on, and on. Paul just makes you love Griffin, you just want to get hold of
him and make it all better... his character is un-nerved while Sabine
is the stable one. So one naturally assumes he is the crazy one,
but is he??? They are both artisits, very interesting. Paul just does such a wonderful job, just wonderful, he is Griffin Moss.
There is a review of the game somewhere here in the audio section I believe.

Belladog,

Ceremony sounds very intreguing indeed. Smile I'll have to keep an eye out for it and a few of the 8th Doctor Who audiobooks the next time I can get over to the bookstore. It'll give me something to be looking out for instead of just wandering the store aimlessly without any target in mind. Very Happy If its not there, then there's always the computer store and Blockbuster video to browse through too.

Just out of curiousity, are there any strobing or flashing lights on it anywhere?

Thanks,
Moon Dancer

To Rollyb,
Thank you for the welcome, as we speak I have
Hanging Gale circled in my PBS video catalog!!!!

To Moon Dancer
The Real One audio is just audio clips,
those in Quicktime audio clips have some
brief visuals but not much, some
flashes of light I will
say, but not much. Mostly with the sounds
clips is a blank screen.
The game itself has ALOT of visual
animation itself, lights,
etc.... Check your
private message for my e-mail
I'll show ya.
